Start A Tradition of Your Own with a Gourmet Fruitcake

Around the holiday season, fruitcakes are always joked about. Although factory produced, unappetizing fruitcakes are certainly something to laugh about, have you ever wanted to try a good fruitcake? In theory, a cake filled with succulent fruits and flavorful nuts, soaked in a tasty liqueur mixture, doesn't sound all that bad. At Beatrice Bakery, our goal is to break the stigma associated with fruitcakes. When you order a gourmet fruitcake from us-either for a special occasion or just as a treat to liven up an ordinary day-you will discover how special this dessert truly is.

The Various Kinds of Gourmet Fruitcakes

A gourmet fruitcake is a fruitcake that has been specially handcrafted by bakers who understand exactly how to create this traditional treat. They are dedicated to quality, making sure only the finest ingredients go into each cake. They also use time-honored methods that are guaranteed to result in the best-tasting fruitcake possible. A gourmet fruitcake will often have special ingredients that set it apart from traditional fruitcakes. Some examples (that we carry) are:

Pineapple Macadamia Nut Fruitcake – This fruitcake is filled with sweet pineapple chunks, the flavor of which is balanced out by crunchy, mellow macadamia nuts. Coconut is added for extra texture and tropical flavor.

Chocolate Fruitcake – Everything's better with chocolate, right? This fruitcake has the traditional combination of fruit and nuts and is rich combination of brandy, rum, and bourbon. However, chocolate is also added into the batter. This makes for a wonderfully fudgy treat that is sure to be a hit!

Chocolate Covered Fruitcake Squares – This is another delicious gourmet fruitcake treat. To create the squares, our traditionally made fruitcake is baked, cooled, then is cut into squares and covered with a thick layer of rich milk chocolate. These decadent fruitcake squares are unique and could easily become your new favorite holiday tradition!

Fruitcake Like Grandma Used to Make

If you are like most people, some of your fondest childhood memories probably revolve around helping your close family members, such as your mother or grandmother, prepare delicious food in the kitchen. The holiday season, especially, is typically a time when you spent a lot of time helping or watching your grandma or mother bake special treats. Did your grandma ever make fruitcake? There is no denying that homemade fruitcake that is prepared properly tastes much better than anything you can buy from the store. However, if you want a rich, tasty fruitcake (like what your grandma used to make), you can easily order one online and receive it in a few days!

How Is Our Grandma Fruitcake Made?

The taste of our Grandma's fruitcake is no different than one that has been carefully prepared the traditional way, as they too are made by hand. All the ingredients for the cake batter are measured and mixed. Then, a wide variety of tasty nuts and dried fruit are stirred in. The nuts and fruit add an explosion of different flavors and colors into the cake. If you don't like citron or orange peel—don't worry! Neither of those ingredients are added to our famous fruitcakes, And, to the batter a mixture of bourbon, rum, and brandy are added then baked so only that wonderful flavor remains!

Why Get a Grandma's Fruitcake?

This special fruitcake is made using a traditional recipe. It is a very rich, moist, and dense cake that tastes so good… it will leave everyone wanting more. You can purchase this fruitcake either in a ring or a loaf form in various sizes. These succulent, nostalgic cakes are the perfect treat not just during the holidays, but all year round!

Christmas Fruit Cakes - A Tasty Tradition

If you are like most people, then you probably have certain Christmas traditions that have been handed down from the generations. At Christmas, some of the most favored traditions revolve around the preparation and consumption certain foods. For centuries, people have prepared a dessert that is still well-known today-the fruitcake. Christmas fruit cakes, if they are made by experienced and knowledgeable bakers, are some of the most appetizing and delicious desserts in the world.

Where the Christmas Fruitcake Began

When the Romans invaded Britain and introduced the British to their culture, they also presented them with the idea of a fruitcakes-dried fruit-and-nut-filled barley loaves soaked with sweet wine. Drying fruits was the best-known method of preserving them for the winter season during medieval times and adding them to cakes became popular. During lavish feasts, such as important holidays like Christmas, the fruit-filled, wine-soaked barley loaves were prepared. After people learned how to candy fruits, fruitcakes became even more colorful, decadent, and sweet. Baking fruitcakes soon become a favorite holiday tradition in the Victorian era and quickly spread around the globe.

Bakery Receives Superior Evaluation

Audits are a necessary element in managing and improving food production / manufacturing facilities.  Beatrice Bakery Co. was inspected recently for our yearly AIB (American Institute of Baking) review. This inspection is in addition to required state/federal (FDA) inspections.

Our record of accomplishment for AIB audits is top notch – receiving superior evaluations for 35 plus years. This would not be possible without the excellent sanitation and production employees here at BBC that take pride in producing safe, quality food.
